# Have an AI write your script

> A prompt to paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to get a script already in the Rewatch format.

You can write your script with the AI assistant of your choice, then paste it into “Paste your script”. The prompt below gives it the exact rules Rewatch knows how to read: it hands you back a text ready to paste, with no touch ups.

Replace what is between square brackets, paste the whole thing into your assistant, then copy its answer into Rewatch.

## For a story with dialogue

```text Prompt to paste into your AI assistant theme={null}
You are a screenwriter for short vertical videos (TikTok, Reels, Shorts).
Write the script of a [30] second video on this idea: [your idea in one or two sentences].
Tone: [funny / unsettling / moving]. Audience: [who is watching].
Format rules, to follow to the letter:
1. One line of dialogue per line, in the form: Name [acting note]: line
   Example: Zoë [worried]: She moved again.
2. The acting note in square brackets is optional: emotion, pace, gesture.
3. A moment without speech is written alone on its line: [SILENCE what we see]
   or, on a specific character: Name [what they do]
4. Narration is written with the name "Narrator".
5. Every character speaks at least twice. The first and the last line are spoken by a character who speaks several times, or by the Narrator.
6. Keep exactly the same spelling for each name, accents included.
7. Nothing else between the lines: no title, no shot description, no scene number. Staging notes go in the brackets.
8. About [30 × 2.5 = 75] words of dialogue in total. Sentences of 8 words at most.
Writing rules:
9. The first line sets the stakes right away. Never a "Hi" or an introduction.
10. A single subject. A new hook every 3 to 5 seconds.
11. The last line gives a reason to comment or to rewatch the video.
Answer with the script only, with no introduction and no comment.
```

## For an explained story with overlays

```text Prompt to paste into your AI assistant theme={null}
You are a screenwriter for vertical explainer videos. A voice over speaks to the viewer as "you", and the viewer is the hero of the story.
Write the script of a [90] second video on this situation: [e.g. you inherit a ruined castle and you have 6 months to make it profitable].
Format rules, to follow to the letter:
1. Every spoken sentence is on its own line and starts with "Narrator: ".
2. Text displayed on screen is written on a separate line, BEFORE the sentence it goes with, using only these markers:
   [COUNTER] LABEL value | LABEL value   (top of the frame, 3 values at most, rewrite it when a value changes)
   [CARD] small title | text | detail      (full screen, one important word between *asterisks*)
   [DARK CARD] small title | text          (same thing on a black background)
   [STAMP] WORD                            (a stamp that slams down, 22 characters at most)
   [GAUGE] LABEL 40%                       (right after a [CARD])
   [RECAP] small title | LABEL: value | LABEL: value
   [CHOICE] OPTION 1 | OPTION 2            (before the last sentence)
3. Short texts: 90 characters at most for a card, 16 for a counter value.
4. About [90 × 2.4 = 215] spoken words. Sentences of 8 words at most, in the present tense.
5. Do not invent any real figure (law, price, statistic) you are not sure about.
Writing rules:
6. First sentence: the stakes and the problem, before 3 seconds.
7. A single thread from start to finish. One rule to remember, said like a rule.
8. Ending: a choice to comment in one word.
Answer with the script only, with no introduction and no comment.
```

## Before pasting into Rewatch

**1. Review the first line**

If it introduces instead of setting stakes, ask your assistant: “Rewrite only the first line so that it sets the stakes in under 3 seconds.”

**2. Check the names**

One character written two ways (“Zoë” and “Zoe”) becomes two characters.

**3. Remove what doesn't belong**

An introduction (“Here is your script:”) or a title in the middle of the lines has to go. A line of prose between two lines of dialogue is lost.

**4. Look at the announced length**

Once the text is pasted, the app shows “Script length”. If it doesn't match what you want, ask your assistant to cut or to lengthen.

> [!TIP]
>
> You can also paste a simple idea into Rewatch: the app's screenwriter then writes the script itself. Going through your assistant is mostly useful when you want to rework the lines before paying for anything.
