The “AI characters” tool creates a character in one request: a profile, a portrait and two angles (three quarter and profile). After that, you mention them with @Name in the Images and Video clips tools: their reference images and their description go along with the request, and they are drawn identically.

The form that works

The assistant wants as much detail as possible: what they are, age, build, face, hairstyle, skin or material, outfit from head to toe, distinguishing marks, and their personality in one sentence.
If you don’t give a name, the assistant suggests a short, unique one (without the @).

Before / after

It also works for a robot, an animal or an object: “A gardening robot made of dented sheet metal, one round glowing eye, a watering can for a hand”.

Editing a character

Mention them and say what changes: “change her hairstyle”, “@Maya in an evening outfit”. The rest is kept, and you get a new version, with the old portrait alongside for comparison (“Before” and “After”). Don’t redescribe the whole character: write only the change.

Common mistakes

  • Vague adjectives (“beautiful”, “stylish”): describe shapes, colors, materials.
  • Forgetting the outfit: it is what makes the character recognizable from afar.
  • Mixing several characters in one request: one character per request.
  • A name that is already taken: it must be unique in your account.
  • Redescribing the appearance when mentioning @Name in an image: say what they do, not what they look like.

Settings that go with it

  • Visual style: choose a style from the list only if you want to impose one, otherwise the assistant leaves the direction open.
  • Attached images: attach images from the session that already show this character, they serve as references.
  • Managing your characters: rename, delete (their portrait and angles stay in the library), or make them public.
  • Public characters are offered to everyone; some are reserved for certain plans.
  • The characters of a series have their own cast: see Creating a series.
  • For reference images in a full video: see References and style.

What stays fixed after creation

Your character has a profile, a portrait and two angles. When you mention them, these images serve as references: that is why an image or clip request doesn’t need to restate their face. If you want to see them in another style or another outfit, edit them rather than creating a second character.
